ONDO STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION IN VIEW
There has been a recent war of words between APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu, and Ondo state Governorship aspirant, Dr Tuni Abayomi over the forthcoming APC Governorship primaries in the state.
Dr Abayomi insists that Tinubu is coercing members of the APC, to which they both belong, to support a candidate of his choice as against Abayomi. Tinubu, on the other hand, has accused Abayomi of lying against him simply because he (Tinubu) refused to support him (Abayomi) in his aspirations. If it is true that Abayomi asked for Tinubu's support, the question to ask then is, would Abayomi have cried out if Tinubu had accepted to support him and even gone ahead to "coerce" party members? Tinubu rightly said that, as a party member, he has a right to support any candidate of his choice. Though that doesn't mean that anybody should be coerced. Tinubu however has insisted that he has only one vote. We all know that with his influence, he has "votes". If however, his " votes" are due to his legitimate influence, then it is all good.
Whatever the case, the APC had better get its acts together and conduct a rancour free primary so that they can come out stronger to face the ruling PDP.
