US CONTRADICTIONS ON TRANSGENDER SEXUALITY
The United States (US) is well known for the almost unlimited freedom it gives to its citizens. One of such freedom is the right to choose one's sexuality.
There are several types of people. There are the lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders (popularly called LGBT). Of special focus here is the transgender category- people who change their sex to that of the opposite sex (for example, male to female). A popular example is Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner.
It is supposed that if you allow a person legally change his/her gender identity, then the full rights of the chosen gender identity should be given to that person. The US President, Barrack Obama, announced in May this year that public schools should allow their transgender students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms of their chosen identity. That seems logical to me. However, a Federal judge in Texas has nullified that directive on the grounds that it was unconstitutional. Wow! The judge directed that transgenders should use the toilets of the gender identity on their birth certificate.
That is contradictory. If a man has changed his gender identity to that of a woman, he is now being addressed as "she", he has even changed his looks to that of a woman and is now legally documented as a woman, it only means that he must be treated as a woman in all situations. Saying that he should use a male bathroom is like saying that a woman should use a male bathroom.
This only shows how unnatural and artificial such a sexuality is. Why allow for transgenders when you can't grant them their full rights? Its their choice anyway.
