WHAT'S WRONG IN NAMING YOUR DOG?

The media has been agog with how a man who named his dog "Buhari" was arrested by the police

The poor man alleges that his neighbours have killed his dog. The police have charged the man to court (but for what offence?) and he is to be arraigned on Monday.
The man claims that he named his dog after Buhari, his hero. I don't know what is wrong there. Even if it was derogatory, it doesn't amount to any crime, neither can he be sued for defamation. It was a rather smart way of attack. The suit against this man is unnecessary and a waste of resources. President Obama has been called worse names. It's one of the perks of democracy- freedom. President Buhari is probably not concerned about this issue as he has other pressing matters on his table.
Let citizens not feel that they are under a tyranny.

  1. Enter your comment... I believe there is no criminal implication in naming a dog after a person but if there is let see wat d prosecution has to prosecute the accused. I doubt if it will hold water
