Once again, a ceasefire plan brokered to stop (at least temporarily) the fighting in Syria between government forces and rebels has broken down.
The United States (US) and Russia brokered the deal that was to see both sides (the Syrian government and the rebel forces and their allies) stop fighting each other and focus on fighting ISIL- the common enemy.
Last night, there was an attack on a United Nations (UN) aid convoy. Thus comes days after the Syrian government announced that it was pulling out of the ceasefire agreement. This is most unfortunate. The UN has announced that it is suspending aid activities in Syria as a result. This would have been an opportunity of ensuring lasting peace in Syria; it has been missed. What is worse is that, apart from the fact that both sides are fighting each other, they are even preventing aid (which isn't sufficient) from reaching innocent civilians.
Thus, the defeat of ISIL and the end of the Syrian war may be far from over.

sorry to say.... but the Syrian war may not come to an end in this century. With the perpetual airstrikes and bombings going on daily, the country is still soaked in war. Paraventure the war ceases, the rejuvenation of the country to a stable state would take donkey years.
